Rivers and lakes structure the territory of Zurich. While offering aquatic habitats for fish and other species, they are also places for leisure, infrastructure as well as fishing areas. Fishing activities in Switzerland cover half of the demand for locally produced fish. Fishing and the health of water bodies in Canton Zurich are deeply intertwined and reliant on each other.

What is the impact of fishing on the territory and on waterbodies as its ecological backbone?
